Environment and Riad M'Haïta

Regarding an environmental behaviour and sustainable development,
Riad M' haïta took resolutions to respect some initiatives and ecological orientations:

Management of the waste (no bottles, plastic bags, packaging),

Food consumption according to the needs of our clientele and season,

Economy of the water (shower, tank and systematic savings) = > see problem of the groundwater of Souss (accesses which were 20 to 30m in depth 50 years ago are about 100m today. “In 2020, the level of the groundwater will so be low in certain places, as it will not be profitable any more to pump”, according Saïd Ouattar, in charge of the Swim project),

Economy of heating and air conditioning (control of the temperature, rooms on garden ventilated thanks to the principle of the Riad, no tumble-dryer = sun and wind),

Use of the solar energy (project 2010 solar cells for domestic hot water),

Fair trade (opportunities for the local producers = food, services, crafts, argan oil, development of the heritage… at a just price, allowing a long-lasting employment and incomes for the local population, by helping the women and within the behaviour of the environmental protection),

We refuse actively a project of golf in Taroudant as long as systems of re-use of waste water will not be planned (and still, these vast turfed meadows facilitate the destruction of the local flora (brooms, argan trees…), vital for the conservation of grounds and natural barrier against the desertification of the region).
